Hey there everybody!!! ♥
My name is Arianna, people call me A.C.
So I was told to make a blog...so here I am.
Well today's topic is IN-LAWS....
My mother and her "life partner" (I call him that because my mother is uncomfortable with that title, not because it makes same sex couples feel less than human but because it implies that she is in a same sex relationship. And until she gets pass her homophobia, I will beat acceptance into her...)
Anywhoo...her life partner's family is in town...so I was asked to come meet them. They were cool. But have you ever felt that underlining tone when you met someone? Like this unspoken..."I'ma kick yo ass if you cause me problems"? That's the feel I got when I walked in, not in the mood for bull shite.
These people talk about everything. I mean EVERYTHING. It doesn't matter if it doesn't matter, as long as they can get off to the sound of their vocal chords working out...I mean we had odd pauses in the conversations...and someone would fill it with random talks of pigs, dead bodies, zombies, birds, fog, motels...etc.
I mean out of all the things to talk about when you first meet a person...no, let's focus on aliens, and noise pollution. I'm 19! WTF...GRRRR!!!!
I'm enduring this as we speak, I've just decided to go to my happy place.
A place where there is poetry...GOOD poetry...Watermelon Arizonas, Itis Burgers and Law & Order: SVU. I'm ready to go.
My advice to anyone meeting your step parent's family...bring headphones...medication and a bible.
So you can drown them out with music, and when you snap from intolerable boredom you can blame it on the meds and hope that one of your parents will quote a scripture and pray over you...
